Chevron plays an integral role in the economic stability of the community. Since it began operations in Jackson County, Chevron has invested more than $4.5 billion at the Pascagoula facility. In 2023, direct local economic impact was more than $811.1 million, which includes the refinery’s payroll as well as monies spent on local goods and services.
In the past 11 years, the Pascagoula Refinery has paid more than $231 million in Jackson County property taxes and $231 million in school taxes (benefitting the Pascagoula-Gautier School District).
