Chevron plays an integral role in the economic stability of the community. Since it began operations in Jackson County, Chevron has invested more than $4.5 billion at the Pascagoula facility. In 2023, direct local economic impact was more than $811.1 million, which includes the refinery’s payroll as well as monies spent on local goods and services.

In the past 11 years, the Pascagoula Refinery has paid more than $231 million in Jackson County property taxes and $231 million in school taxes (benefitting the Pascagoula-Gautier School District).

In 2023, the Chevron Pascagoula Refinery matched contributions employees to non-profits totaling $1.2 million and our volunteers served more than 2,400 volunteer hours with nonprofit organizations in the area that support youth development, education programs, basic human needs, and numerous community organizations. These organizations include but are not limited to Excel By 5, Project Lead the Way, STEM ZONE, American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, Pascagoula River Audubon Center, Grand Bay NERR, Salvation Army, United Way, American Red Cross and many more.
