The Pascagoula Refinery has completed a strong queue of major capital projects, bringing significant investment into the community. Chevron is continuing to evaluate other potential opportunities to enhance further the competitive position of the Pascagoula Refinery.
Pascagoula Base Oil Project
In 2014, Chevron completed the Pascagoula Base Oil Plant. The new addition to the refinery can produce approximately 25,000 barrels per day of premium base oils, which are used in high-performance lubricants, including motor oils for consumer and commercial uses. The new plant took approximately three years to construct, creating thousands of construction jobs during that time period, and bringing more than $145 million into the local economy. Construction included adding two new berths to the Chevron wharf, 16 new product tanks, new railcar capabilities and more.
